75% of revenue stays with the host community.
A community-diving cooperative in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique's southernmost coastal town, just 15km from the South African border. The cooperative of 12 local dive masters — trained through a Marine Conservation NGO programme — offers PADI Discover Scuba sessions, reef dives to sites like Crèche, Pinnacle, and Doodles, and seasonal ocean safaris to swim with wild dolphins. Ponta's reefs are among the healthiest in southern Mozambique, with 300+ fish species, resident potato bass, and seasonal visits from hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and whale sharks (October–March). The cooperative runs a reef monitoring programme where divers help collect coral health data. 75% of revenue funds a marine conservation scholarship for local youth and a plastic cleanup initiative on Ponta's beaches. WhatsApp booking available. Accessible via 4x4 from Kosi Bay border post (South Africa) or Maputo (120km on new EN200 highway).
