Sofala · Homestay
100% of revenue stays with the host community.
A community homestay programme in the Búzi River district, 100km from Beira. Visitors stay with families in riverside villages, participating in daily life — fishing in the Búzi River, farming in the fertile floodplain, collecting reeds for basketry, and sharing evenings of traditional Ndau storytelling. The programme is 100% community-owned with all revenue staying in the villages. Funds support a community school and a flood-resilient grain storage project (critical in a district repeatedly devastated by flooding). The Búzi is one of Mozambique's most beautiful rivers — wide, slow, and fringed with reeds and baobabs.
